All About Therapy
Time To Focus On You
If you're looking for therapy then you've already taken the hardest, first step of deciding that you'd like support in making positive changes to your life.

Perhaps you're down or anxious, maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead.

Therapy represents a safe, confidential space to look at whatever issues you may be facing right now, and find a way forwards.

Therapy can offer
A chance to be heard and seen
An opportunity to work through your thoughts and feelings
A time to develop new skills, whether it be managing emotions, communication skills, or learning to love yourself

Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support.

How I Work
My interest in psychology dates back over 25 years, when my degree in business and I.T. ended up with me sidetracking to the psychology of human-computer interaction.
Fast-forward to today and I have built up a variety of qualifications and experience, with diplomas, certificates and training in psychotherapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, addiction, and I'm even a certified dog psychologist!

My view of therapy is that it requires a holistic approach. I work in an integrative manner, which means I pull from a variety of western psychological theories, including person-centered, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies, as well as eastern concepts such as mindfulness and self-compassion.
Science is increasingly recognising the importance of the mind-body connection, and where appropriate I include consideration of lifestyle factors such as nutrition, sleep and exercise as part of the work we do together.
I am a member of both the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and operate in accordance with their Codes of Ethics.

Services I Offer
Face-to-Face Therapy
For many people the experience of being physically present in a safe space gives them a freedom to feel, release and explore in ways they may not have felt able to before.
I work from an office in central Chelmsford with convenient access by train, bus or car. Sessions at this location are available at £50 for a 50 minute session.
Online Therapy
Sometimes it may be more practical or convenient to use an online service. Due to the lower overheads involved in providing this service it can also be done more cheaply.
Zoom sessions are available at £40 for a 50 minute session.
Hypnotherapy
I use hypnotherapy and guided visualisation as one of the core components of therapy work. It can be an effective tool to promote relaxation, exploration of the past, and development of new techniques.
Dedicated hypnotherapy work can also be arranged to focus on specific areas such as phobias and habits. These sessions may be of longer duration and, for example, a typical 90 minute session would be £75.
You can contact me today to schedule an initial assessment consultation.
This is an opportunity for us to discuss your needs and see if my services are a good match for you. There is no obligation to proceed further and I may be able to refer you to a more suitable therapist or other service if required.
